West Ham submit £12m bid to sign Banzuzi, Leuven responds amid Potter pursuit

West Ham United are actively pursuing the signing of OH Leuven’s midfielder, Ezechiel Banzuzi, and have reportedly submitted a £12 million bid. However, they face stiff competition from AS Monaco, who have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the 19-year-old Dutch U21 international.

Monaco is set to meet with Leuven to finalize a deal, proposing a fee of around €13 million, including bonuses. Despite Monaco’s advanced position, they remain cautious of West Ham’s potential to hijack the transfer. The uncertainty surrounding West Ham’s managerial situation, with Julen Lopetegui’s future in question and Graham Potter being considered as a replacement, could influence the club’s ability to secure Banzuzi’s signature.

Banzuzi has been a key player for Leuven, making 21 appearances this season, contributing two goals and five assists. His performances have attracted interest from multiple clubs, but Leicester City, initially in the race, have reportedly withdrawn, leaving West Ham and Monaco as the primary contenders.

The outcome of this transfer pursuit may hinge on West Ham’s managerial decisions and their ability to negotiate effectively amidst competition from Mo

naco.
