Anthony Joshua has been advised to steer clear of a huge showdown with Martin Bakole despite claims the deal is complete.

Recent discussions have emerged regarding a potential bout between Anthony Joshua and Martin Bakole. Ben Shalom, Bakole’ promoter, claimed that the fight was “done” and suggested it would take place in the Congo. However, Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, refuted these claims, stating that no conversations about such a fight have occurred.

Boxing promoter Barry McGuigan has advised Joshua to avoid a fight with Bakole, labeling him as the “most avoided heavyweight” and suggesting that Joshua should focus on title fights or a bout against Tyson Fury. Bakole, with a record of 21-1 and 16 KOs, is considered a formidable opponent in the heavyweight division.

Despite the speculation, Hearn emphasized that Joshua is in good spirits, actively training, and has not engaged in discussions regarding a fight with Bakole. As of now, no official agreement has been reached for a Joshua vs. Bakole matchup.
