Nuno responds to title race question amid Nottingham Forest ‘pride’ at victory over Wolves

Nottingham Forest’s recent 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers marked their sixth consecutive Premier League win, elevating them to joint second place with Arsenal and just six points behind leaders Liverpool.

 

Despite this impressive run, manager Nuno Espírito Santo remains focused on immediate challenges rather than title aspirations. When questioned about a potential title race, Nuno stated, “Maybe at the end of the season, I will take a look. At the end of the season, I will take a look, I will promise you guys.”

 

Nuno also expressed pride in his team’s performance, especially as the victory coincided with the 50th anniversary of Brian Clough’s appointment at Nottingham Forest. He remarked, “It means a lot for us because Brian Clough is a legend of the club. You can see it all over Nottingham, in our stadium and in our training ground, references to Brian Clough. That can only inspire us.”

 

Looking ahead, Nuno emphasized the importance of their upcoming FA Cup match against Luton Town, indicating his focus remains on one game at a time. He said, “We play Luton in the FA Cup at the City Ground next, which is huge for us. It is a good chance for us.”

 

Forest’s recent form has been bolstered by standout performances from players like Morgan Gibbs-White, who scored against his former club Wolves, and goalkeeper Matz Sels, whose crucial saves have been instrumental in maintaining their winning streak.
