Newcastle United braced for bids for £15m man as two Premier League clubs consider move

Newcastle United are reportedly open to selling midfielder Sean Longstaff for a fee between £15 million and £20 million during the upcoming January transfer window. This decision aligns with the club’s strategy to comply with Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules, necessitating player sales to balance their finances.

Longstaff, a 27-year-old academy graduate, has made 199 appearances for Newcastle since his debut in 2018. Despite his contributions, the club is considering his departure to facilitate squad improvements. Premier League clubs such as Leicester City and Leeds United have previously shown interest in Longstaff, and with his homegrown status, Newcastle could register a full profit from his sale.

Additionally, Newcastle are contemplating the sale of winger Miguel Almirón, valued at around £15 million. Almirón has attracted interest from clubs in Brazil, Turkey, and the United States. Sporting Director Paul Mitchell has emphasized the importance of player trading to ensure the club’s financial sustainability and support future investments.

These potential sales reflect Newcastle United’s commitment to strategic financial management while aiming to enhance their squad in forthcoming transfer windo
