David Moyes return: ‘Huge’ risk mooted as Friedkins react at Everton

David Moyes has returned to Everton as manager, succeeding Sean Dyche, with the club currently in 16th place in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.

The Friedkin Group (TFG), Everton’s new owners, appointed Moyes believing his experience can stabilize the club and restore lost values.

Moyes, who previously managed Everton from 2002 to 2013, expressed confidence in replicating his earlier success and emphasized the importance of bringing in elite players to improve team performance.

He acknowledged the challenges ahead, noting that the current situation is different and more challenging compared to his previous tenure.

Moyes’ return is seen as a calculated move by TFG, aiming to avoid relegation before the club’s move to a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock next season.

While some view the mid-season managerial change as risky, others believe Moyes’ appointment is the least risky option given his familiarity with the club and proven Premier League record.
