New Report On Kings-Pelicans Trade Talks Before Mike Brown’s Firing

The front office inquired about acquiring NBA stars such as Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans, Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls, Cam Thomas from the Brooklyn Nets, and Kyle Kuzma from the Washington Wizards.

They consulted with Coach Brown about potential roster or staff changes that might yield better results. However, as losses accumulated, the organization decided a coaching change was necessary.

The decision to part ways with Brown was not taken lightly. A source within the Kings organization stated, “Nobody wanted to fire Mike. He’s a good coach. People here really care about him. Until the very last moment, we were trying to make it work.”

In the wake of Brown’s departure, assistant coach Doug Christie was appointed as the interim head coach. The Kings’ management continues to evaluate options to strengthen the team, aiming to turn the season around and compete effectively in the Western Conference.

The Kings’ recent performance includes a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on December 29, 2024, marking their sixth consecutive def
